The history of our family-run Hotel & Spa Resort began with Villa Contessa more than 110 years ago.

Built in 1910, our Villa Contessa once served as a summer residence for a very well-heeled society. Prominent and wealthy people enjoyed their summer retreat here on the majestic Scharmützelsee. The illustrious guests of the time included many UFA film stars, famous writers and prominent athletes, but also dazzling figures of world history such as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Our Villa Contessa has always remained true to its excellent reputation. Today, our Villa Contessa is an enchanting first class Hideaway, which combines great tradition with the most modern feel-good comfort and all conceivable amenities of a 5-star luxury hotel.
